Geophysicist -

Offshore OMPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.

We are looking for Geophysicists (both of medior and senior experience)  to join our client in the Geophysical industry on a permanent basis! Details are below:

Salary: £35,000 – £80,000 + package (experience dependant)

We are looking for someone who has the below requirements:
  • A relevant degree (e.g., Geophysics, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline).

  • Excellent knowledge of physics first principles.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and innovation.

  • Flexibility to mobilise at short notice and adapt to varying work environments.

This role:

You will play a vital role in all stages of geophysical project progression, from initial planning to data collection, reporting, and quality assurance. You will have a relevant geoscience degree, a thorough understanding of physics, and experience with AutoCAD and Geosoft Oasis Montaj. You will be involved in projects across multiple departments, including surveys for transport infrastructure, engineering, geotechnical, geological, and environmental purposes, as well as unexploded ordnance (UXO) and utility service detection surveys.

  • Project preparation: Prepare projects based on client requirements, assessing and agreeing on effective techniques prior to site work, with a focus on quality, customer service, budget, and program constraints.

  • Data collection: Competently collect high-quality data using a range of techniques, including electromagnetics, magnetics, radio frequency location, GPR, seismics, ERI. Experience in utility mapping would be advantageous.

  • Data processing and analysis: Use specialist geophysical software and drawing packages (e.g., AutoCAD, Oasis Montaj, RES2DINV, GeoGiga, Geolitix) to QC, process, analyse, and interpret data.

  • Reporting: Produce clear and concise technical reports, tailored to the project and client requirements.

  • Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality policies, leading by example in their application.

  • Technical growth: Build on your existing experience and contribute to the collective knowledge of the team. You will have opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, while being encouraged to deliver innovative solutions.

  • Customer interaction: Communicate professionally and effectively with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues.
