We are looking for a Electronics Manager to join our client in the maritime technology industry:
Start Date: July 2026
Duration: Permanent, onsite
Location: London, UK
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 + package
Responsibilities:
– Develop and maintain PCB schematics for a range of electronic subsystems
– Manage PCB layout activities directly or collaborate with internal/external layout engineers
– Select components based on performance, availability, lifecycle, cost, and manufacturability considerations
– Bring up, test, and debug PCB assemblies using lab equipment and structured validation methods
– Work across analog, digital, sensor interface, motor driver, power electronics, and high-speed digital designs
– Prepare fabrication, assembly, and release documentation for prototype and production builds
– Support EMC, validation, environmental, and reliability testing activities
– Investigate PCB assembly or manufacturing issues and work with suppliers to implement practical solutions
– Contribute to design-for-manufacture (DFM) and design-for-test (DFT) improvements throughout development
Requirements:
– Degree-qualified in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline
– Approximately 2–5 years of industry experience developing PCB-based electronic systems
– Strong experience with PCB schematic capture and board-level electronics design
– Understanding of high-speed PCB layout principles, including controlled impedance, signal integrity, length matching, and timing-critical interfaces such as DDR
– Experience bringing up, testing, and debugging PCB assemblies in a laboratory environment
– Knowledge of both analog and digital electronics
– Exposure to power electronics and related circuit design
– Experience using PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad, EasyEDA, or equivalent
– Experience with sensor interfaces, control electronics, or motor driver circuitry
– Experience producing fabrication and assembly documentation for manufacturing
Desirable Skills:
– Experience supporting PCB manufacturing or resolving assembly-related issues with suppliers or contract manufacturers
– Exposure to component sourcing, substitutions, lifecycle management, or redesigns driven by availability constraints
– Experience supporting EMC, environmental, reliability, or compliance testing
– Knowledge of motor control systems, encoders, or feedback electronics
– Experience with mixed-signal PCB design
– Familiarity with production test methods, test fixtures, or end-of-line testing considerations
– Experience working with external PCB layout teams or manufacturing partners
– Understanding of revision control, engineering change processes, and hardware release procedures
