Electronic Design Engineer -

Offshore OMPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.

We are looking for an Electronics Design Engineer to join our client in the maritime technology industry on a permanent basis! Details are below:

Role: Electronics Design Engineer
Start Date: April/May, 2026
Style: Permanent, onsite
Location: Norfolk, UK
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + package (experience dependant)

We are looking for someone who has the below requirements:
  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electronic product design, including embedded PC systems
  • Experience designing and testing mixed-signal systems involving:
    • SoCs and FPGAs
    • Control and logic circuits
    • Switching power supplies
    • Analogue amplification
    • Isolated systems
    • Transducer driver stages

This role:

You will be responsible for the design, development, and ongoing enhancement of electronic sonar systems, ensuring all products meet defined technical specifications and performance targets. This includes creating schematics and multi-layer PCB designs, supported by simulation, modelling, and practical testing. The role also involves hands-on system testing, fault finding, root cause analysis, and repair of existing products, alongside participation in design reviews at key stages of the development lifecycle.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you will contribute to peer reviews and support continuous improvement across designs. You will produce and maintain detailed product documentation, including bills of materials, manufacturing data, assembly instructions, test procedures, and user manuals. In addition, you will carry out new product evaluations, including acoustic testing, to ensure performance meets or exceeds specifications.

The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams such as Procurement, Manufacturing, Test, and Quality, as well as engagement with external partners during design, prototyping, and production phases. You will also provide technical support to internal stakeholders and global customers, both remotely and on-site, with occasional travel within the UK and internationally.
