Control Engineer -

Offshore OMPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.

We are looking for a Control Engineer to join our client in the Offshore technology industry on a permanent basis! Details are below:

Role: Control Engineer
Start Date: December 2025/ January 2026
Style: Permanent, onsite/flexible working
Location: Northumberland, UK
Salary: 48,000 – 60,000 annually + package (experience dependent)

I am looking for someone who has the below requirements:
  • 2+ years experience in designing and commissioning safety automation and control systems for marine and/or hazardous environments.
  • Understands PLC programming for safety and process applications.
  • On-site commissioning and fault-finding experience.

This role:
You are key to bringing our innovative systems to life. As a Control Engineer, you’ll design, develop, and deliver bespoke machinery in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment. You’ll combine technical expertise with creativity and problem-solving to produce high-quality results—on spec, on budget, and on time. Responsibilities include designing control circuits, developing and simulating PLC, HMI/SCADA systems, configuring inverter drives, reviewing electrical schematics and safety studies, and ensuring compliance with standards like DNV. You’ll also support sales proposals, liaise with suppliers, and help drive projects to success. Whether you’re a recent graduate or a seasoned engineer, your ideas and initiative will make a real impact.
