Control Engineer -
Offshore OMPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.
We are looking for a Control Engineer to join our client in the Offshore technology industry;
Start Date: May, 2026
Duration: Permanent, onsite/flexible working
Location: Northumberland, UK
Salary: £50,000 – £75,000 annually + package (experience dependant)
Requirements:
– 2+ years experience in designing and commissioning safety automation and control systems for marine and/or hazardous environments.
– Degree in Electrical Engineering
– Understands PLC programming for safety and process applications.
– On-site commissioning and fault-finding experience.
Responsibilities:
– Design, develop, and deliver bespoke machinery and control systems
– Develop and simulate PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems
– Design control circuits and configure inverter drives
– Review electrical schematics and safety studies
– Ensure systems comply with relevant industry standards, including DNV
– Support sales proposals and provide technical input
– Liaise with suppliers and support project delivery
– Work within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary engineering environment
– Use problem-solving and technical expertise to deliver projects on time and within budget
– Contribute ideas and drive continuous improvement across projects
