Senior Systems Engineer -

Offshore OMPA support and supply the highest quality workforce for both the onshore and offshore operations of the renewables, oil & gas, telecommunications and marine industries.

We are looking for a Senior A&C Systems Engineer to join our client in the Offshore Heavy Lifting sector on a permanent basis! Details are below:

Role: Senior A&C Systems Engineer
Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
Style: Permanent, 40 hours a week, Hybrid
Salary: £55,000 – £75,000 + package (experience dependent)

You will need:

  • 8+ years of experience as a System Engineer A&C, preferably within multidisciplinary project environments.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or Power Engineering.

  • Proven expertise in systems engineering (e.g., ISO15288), functional design documentation, and control system narratives.

  • Strong technical knowledge of PLCs, AC/DC power distribution, frequency converters, grid conversion systems, and industrial communication networks.

  • Understanding of cybersecurity standards and experience integrating secure systems.

  • Experience managing outsourced work and coordinating suppliers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Responsibilities:

This role sits within a 30-person Engineering department and the Automation & Control team, working closely with system engineers and programmers across projects and commissioning. As a Senior System Engineer, you are responsible for the full automation scope of multidisciplinary projects, translating client and system requirements into robust control architectures. You lead the design, integration, testing, and validation of PLC, HMI, SCADA, and power management systems, while coordinating engineers, standardising methods, and mentoring junior colleagues.
