Senior Cost Controller - 200132

We are recruiting for a global client based in London, they require a Senior Cost Controller to join the team until December 2020 with the possibility of extension.

The ideal candidate will have proven project management experience with implementing & maintaining the offshore business cost management control system/process through the pre-delivery, delivery and operation transition phases. Experience and skills in liaising with procurement and/or package Managers/Budget Holders’ to determine committed expenditure and update/interrogate current budget assumptions. Experience in offshore environment / energy projects. Proven experience in budget preparation and management experience in offshore environment. Experience in offshore windfarm, marine works or oil and gas delivery and marine operations and its potential risks and costing structure.

  • Month End Processes:
  • VoWD;
  • Manual accruals request;
  • Cost Variance Analysis Report;
  • Project Monthly Report
  • Forecasting Processes:
  • Creating the Forecasts;
  • Change control process;
  • Creating and maintaining budget availability

Experience in resource cost control,  in leading the month-end financial reporting process including variance cost analysis reporting, cash flow reporting and forecasting processes. Report writing, presentation skills and ability to summarize key parameters and drivers impacting the project budget and business case are needed alongside support in the compiling (on a quarterly basis) the project’s VoWD plan/forecast and explaining monthly any deviations from such forecast.

You will be deft at problem solving – dealing with conflicting requirements. Able to work as part of the team that maintains the cost structure (Creating and maintaining WBS structures, Creating and maintaining AOs, Purchase Requisition /Order Approval, Commitment Reporting / Closing Down POs ). Have the ability to manage key project budgets, forecasts and best estimates which require interface and precise coordination with multiple disciplines (structures, turbines, electrical cables, offshore substations, ports, vessels). Be able to balance technical detail with commercial needs and provide recommendations, taking into account all relevant costs and ensure that all recommendations are documented and sufficient due diligence exists to support decisions (whether internal or external diligence).

 

Must hold a Master in Engineering or Business Management degree or Degree qualified or equivalent qualifications / experience.

Verbal and written English skills must be to an excellent level.
