About this course
Designed to meet the basic training and competence requirements for all personnel working at height on wind turbines.
This course achieves a balance of the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the level of competence set out as the industry standard
What experience / qualifications do I need to book a place?
You must be 18 or over.
There are no academic or technical pre-requisites for attendance on this course, but all candidates will be required to present the following:
- A current medical fit to work certificate
- Valid photographic ID such as a Passport or Driving License
What will I learn?
Safe systems of work
Methods of fall protection
Overview of wind turbines
Care of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Correct use of PPE
Safe access and egress
Safety whilst at height
Industry specific requirements
Use of rescue equipment
What do I need to bring?
- Appropriate clothing to climb in (we advise loose clothing which does not hinder your movement)
- Appropriate clothing for the weather conditions (Parts of the training may take place outside)
- Safety footwear
- Reading glasses if required for any theory work

GWO WORKING AT HEIGHTS REFRESHER
The GWO BST/BSTR certificates must be renewed before the end of the validity period. If a certificate is expired, the Delegate will need to complete the full Basic Safety Training again.
A certificate can be renewed up to two months prior to expiry and maintain the original certification date. If a certificate is renewed more than two months before expiry it must carry the new date of certification
About this course
The refresher course provides delegates the opportunity to build on a range of important skills and tools obtained during their previous GWO Working at Heights Safety Training
